Will also collaborated with BBC Radio 2 Folk Award winner Josienne Clarke (Rough Trade) on the track “Lullaby”. The song was featured on the movie “The Butterfly Tattoo”, which was based on the novel of the same name by Philip Pullman, author of The Golden Compass and His Dark Materials Trilogy. Will is known for his expressive and contrasting guitar sound of heavy and light, loud and quiet and takes listeners on a journey with his melodious and intricate picking style.

"Possessing the soul of a Sergio Leone western and the sex appeal of Rita Hayworth, Kira Lynn Cain's The Ideal Hunter is the stuff of classic Hollywood." -Venus Zine
"David Lynch meeting Philip Glass to write music for a spaghetti western." -East Bay Express
"Top 20 Americana albums of the year" -Allmusic.org
After playing with various groups over the years Daniel has now embarked on a solo project. These songs have been brewing for the past five years, with influences rooted in country, Irish and contemporary folk. They have developed in the groups he's played with, and has brought some of those collaborations to these new sounds.
Ben Jordan - Sunday Sessions - 5 Feb // 7.30PM
Ben Jordan is an American independent musician from Denver, Colorado. He is currently residing and touring throughout the UK and Europe. This year Ben will release his highly anticipated follow up to 2010's Ghosts Breathing Through Our Strings, entitled, Dream Invisible on IRL Records. This album features the majority of Sam Green & the Midnight Heist, Jaz Delorean, from Tankus the Henge and other UK musicians. This summer, Ben was picked up as an endorsee for Anderwood guitars and signed by IRL Records.
Ben's songs range from intimate ballad to high energy foot stomper and everywhere in between. His solo shows are part comedy, part travelogue and always a hairs breadth from careening off the road. His communication and rapport with the audience is a rare and often hilarious thing to see. Never one to shy away from a road story or a joke before breaking your heart or making you want to get up and dance, Ben is both new & old in the same breath. With ever changing set lists, and a prolific output of songs, definitely a live experience worth having more than once.
Martha Hill - Sunday Sessions - 12 Feb
Martha Hill Music is a Newcastle based singer/songwriter from Scotland who fuses elements of folk, blues, pop and reggae into one big melting pot of rhythmic guitar and soulful vocals.
After three years of travelling around Europe sharing music with strangers and sleeping in weird places, Martha Hill has returned to Newcastle. Known partly as the trombone player for the brilliant Holy Moly and the Crackersss, Martha Hill has ventured back out on her own with the launch of a brand new single, the stupendously affecting Blue Moon.
Blue Moon was launched to a sold out crowd in Newcastle, and met with great enthusiasm by press and fans alike, with Narc magazine saying it's “at once exotically jazzy and soulfully sensual – it’s a chilled outtrack which carries the listener on a wave of atmospheric nostalgia”.Martha is currently working with local cellist Ceitidh Mac, as well as multi-instrumentalist Nick Tyler. The three are working together to create a fusion of folk, blues and electronic music (with the occasional hint of rock and roll), drawing influence from everything from Tom Waits to Alt-J.
With a UK tour on the horizon for February, Martha Hill continues to play at venues all over the country, supporting bands like Holy Moly and the Crackers, The Buffalo Skinners and The Urban VoodooMachine.
"Her set is so simple, yet feels like big production. Martha Hill excites me, and I know she'll excite you too. It is no wonder the sold out crowd weren't leaving withoutan encore!" -review, NE:MM magazine
“Now, I expected this to be good, but I wasn’t quite prepared for how good. Her voice is soft, not quiet, but warm and inviting, there’s a quality which seems to emit directly from the chest, definitely the heart, and which renders the listener with no choice but to smile.” -NARC magazine.
“Sultry vocals laid over soulful jazz writing. Martha's music is lovely!” -Sofar Sounds Newcastle
