Ben Jordan - Sunday Sessions 11/06 @ 8.30PM
Ben Jordan is an American independent musician from Denver, Colorado. He is currently residing and touring throughout the UK and Europe. This year Ben will release his highly anticipated follow up to 2010's Ghosts Breathing Through Our Strings, entitled, Dream Invisible on IRL Records. This album features the majority of Sam Green & the Midnight Heist, Jaz Delorean, from Tankus the Henge and other UK musicians. This summer, Ben was picked up as an endorsee for Anderwood guitars and signed by IRL Records.
Ben's songs range from intimate ballad to high energy foot stomper and everywhere in between. His solo shows are part comedy, part travelogue and always a hairs breadth from careening off the road. His communication and rapport with the audience is a rare and often hilarious thing to see. Never one to shy away from a road story or a joke before breaking your heart or making you want to get up and dance, Ben is both new & old in the same breath. With ever changing set lists and a prolific output of songs, definitely a live experience worth having more than once.
Bluesy Wednesday With .... Joe Kelly - 14th @ 8.30PM
It's easy to consign the idea of the itinerant blues singer to myth (Robert Johnson) or caricature (Seasick Steve) but in 2017, the Bastard Joe Kelly is as close as you'll get to the real thing. Having spent the last couple of years calling a dilapidated camper van home and playing hundreds of shows armed with just a beaten-up guitar, a stomping foot and a harmonica, Joe decided that enough was enough. Breaking free of the limitations of the one-man band format and enlisting the services of a hand-picked troupe of the finest local guns for hire has already borne fruit. Debut single Devil At Your Door was an apocalyptic folk-blues with roots instrumentation and a contemporary edge that proved an immediate hit with DJs Bethan Elfyn, Andrew Shay and Adam Walton and earned the Bastard a BBC Horizons grant into the bargain.

Music from 4.30PM

His honest and original songwriting weaves in themes of love, memory, adversity and hope; ranging from the nostalgic images of a Northern childhood 'in the shadow of a burnt out mill' (Two Wanderers In 1980’s Clothes) to the trials and adventures of 21st Century Life ‘Oh let me breathe, let me fly, let me live a polyphonic life’ (A Polyphonic Life.)
Jack Harris (8.30)
"A natural, captivating song-writing talent" - The Telegraph
Jack Harris writes literate, compassionate songs and then goes out and sings them. His new album, 'The Wide Afternoon', produced by Gerry Diver (Sam Lee, Lisa Knapp, Tom Robinson) gathers 11 new songs, and sets them to a moody, expansive soundscape. It's coming out in November 2016.
Jack won the Kerrville Folk Festival's New Folk award in 2005. Previous winners include Anais Mitchell, Gillian Welch and Devon Sproule. He was a SXSW showcasing artist at 17. He's played clubs, arts centres and skating rinks across the UK and abroad. He likes doing this above all things.
Now, come listen.
