April 8th JEREMY TUPLIN and DOMINIC SILVANI
Sunday Sessions .. 8pm
Dominic Silvani, a singer songwriter in the acoustic Cohen tradition, is known on the London alternative folk scene as 'the voice of a thousand caves'. He regularly performs with Henni Saarela accompanying on violin. Dominic is also lead vocalist with the indie rock band, The Avon Guard.
Jeremy Tuplin has been described as 'the missing link between Nick Drake and 'Space Oddity-era' Bowie' by Folk Radio UK, if that hasn't peaked your attention immediately then we're not sure what will. With his intricate lyricism, perceptive observation and sly humour, Tuplin manages an effortless charm to his sound that truly needs to be witnessed to be understood.
April 11th BEN HEMMING
Ben hemming is London based singer / songwriter and modern day troubadour in the true sense of the word. He has played in cities all over Europe and North America and has been involved in 4 international tours to date, regularly playing overseas in the summer months. He is an independent artist who has carved out a original sound for himself, a risk taker in music industry dominated by conformity, and been described as as “a unique musical identity” by The Blues Magazine. And it’s not hard to see why. His live shows are the stuff of legends. Not only is he an excellent guitar player and powerful vocalist, but an awesome drummer too, and he plays both guitar and drums at the same time in a stunning show as a ‘one man band’.
He has released two albums to date; ‘Broken Man’ and ‘City of Streets’ both digitally distributed worldwide on iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon. Both releases have enjoyed significant radio airplay and received critical success from the music press being discarded as “Songs of bleak beauty” by Blues Blast Magazine. He has been lucky enough to be involved with top names in the music industry such as producer Nick Terry, who has worked with artists such as the Liberties, Ian Brown, and Klaxons. He has also worked with producer Miles Clark who records regularly with Pete Townsend, and The Who.
Ben Hemming is surely an up and coming artist in the Blues scene as well as a cross over act into the music mainstream and a name to watch in the future. It’s not hard to see why Americana U.K. have hailed his music as ‘a new Blues’.
April 15th MITCHELL and VINCENT
Sunday Sessions... 8pm
David Mitchell and Graham Vincent are a folk duo from Dorset and Somerset who bring traditional and contemporary styles on fiddle and guitar to folk tunes and songs from around the British Isles with varied arrangements and great foot-tapping folk music.
They first met playing in a ceilidh band, based in the South West of England, and found out that coincidentally they had both trained as Luthiers (instrument makers) (David plays a guitar he has made and Graham now makes violins). So with shared musical tastes, and wanting to make more music, they started playing a few gigs as a duo during 2012 and have enjoyed playing ever since.
Mitchell and Vincent have performed at a whole variety of festivals, events and concerts around the UK and abroad as well as in their native West Country, including established popular events such as Glastonbury Festival, Beverley Folk Festival, Broadstairs Folk Week, Lyme Folk Weekend, Bath Folk and International Festivals and Wimborne Minster Folk Festival.
They have also supported renowned musicians such as Tim Edey (a BBC Radio 2 Folk Award Winner), Archie Fisher MBE, Jackie Oates and Kate Rusby as well as Ralph McTell and Wizz Jones.
- Acoustic magazine: “At all times, the interplay between David Mitchell’s guitar and Graham Vincent’s fiddle is quite stunning.”
- Gerard Edwards, Festival & Bradninch Folk Club Organiser:
“Well worth going to see, generous in performance and I would say the quintessential fiddle guitar duo.”

April 19th MARTHA HILL
SPECIAL EVENT! 8pm
Jaw-droppingly, heart-stoppingly brilliant. Fusing soul, edgy indie, acoustic folk, and contemporary pop to stunning effect, they succeed in bringing four disparate strands into one perfect, coherent whole. It's a sound that feels as though it's been around forever, and at the same time utterly contemporary and cutting-edge. Hill's superb, stop-you-in-your-tracks jazz-blues voice and unshirkingly honest, kitchen sink lyrical style summons the ghost of Amy Winehouse, backed up by superbly original, starkly minimal arrangement from her band. DON'T MISS OUT!

29th April THE AIN'T BROTHERS
Sunday Sessions... 8pm
Ed's been playing guitar and drums since the age of 13 and after hearing Howling Wolf on a cassette tape he soon got hold of a Harmonica.
The One Man Band format is a great way for Ed to express his love for all things Blues through his own unique songs.
Whilst the music is firmly grounded in roots music, the ideas are completely in the present.
Blues is a living & breathing art form for Ed and a way of life, not a relic from the past.
Ed's international tours have taken him to Sweden, switzerland and Ireland. He's played at many Festivals including Love Supreme, Purbeck, End Of The Road and countless Blues festivals including Kinsale and Maryport. In 2016 he entertained crowds on the beautiful Central Piazza at Festival no.6.
Tonight he'll be playing alongside Honest Frankie as The Ain't Brothers!
