Sunday Special With Crooked Weather, 3pm

The fabulous Crooked Weather are returning to The Lamb for a special acoustic set! They are a rock infused folk band, based out of whatever rusty vehicle they can beg, steal or borrow and fueled by the new people and places they meet whilst being on the road.

They hail from the depths of East Yorkshire, England, but over the last 3 years have toured the lengths and breadths of Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, U.S., England and Holland. Their original songs, steeped somewhere in the folk revival of the late 60's, have a raw, modern edge, with the lilting harmonies of Holly & Will at the core.

Building up a reputation for their live shows, they've supported the likes of Jeffrey Lewis, Micheal Chapman, Mike Heron (Incredible String Band), Jim Jones, Dick Gaughan, Roddy Woomble & Bridget St. John along their way.

"They are indie meets World music meets traditional British folk. Think a contemporary Incredible String Band with a 21st century mindset or the acoustic side of Led Zeppelin.” - Sid Griffin (Bob Dylan Biographer // BBC 6 Music)

Whiskey Moonface and Dakota Jim

To describe Whiskey Moonface as an alternative folk group doesn't even begin to do justice to the breadth of inspiration and style in their music. Based around double bass, accordian, and clarinet, they're led by the superb vocals and hallucinatory lyrics of singer Louisa Jones. Capable of being both ear-to-ear-grinningly entertaining and profoundly moving, they combine elements of Eastern European traditional & klezmer music, old-time New Orleans jazz and the baroque/ chamber folk styles of Sufjan Stevens and Beirut with their own unique take on contemporary folk music to make for a superbly realised, truly beautiful, and utterly original sound. There is simply no-one in the UK making music like Whiskey Moonface.

An Evening With Ed Hopwood

Ed's been playing guitar and drums since the age of 13 and after hearing Howling Wolf on a cassette tape he soon got hold of a Harmonica.

The One Man Band format is a great way for Ed to express his love for all things Blues through his own unique songs.

Whilst the music is firmly grounded in roots music, the ideas are completely in the present.

Blues is a living & breathing art form for Ed and a way of life, not a relic from the past.

Ed's international tours have taken him to Sweden, switzerland and Ireland. He's played at many Festivals including Love Supreme, Purbeck, End Of The Road and countless Blues festivals including Kinsale and Maryport. In 2016 he entertained crowds on the beautiful Central Piazza at Festival no.6.

An Evening With The Dirty Bourbon River Show

The Dirty Bourbon River Show deftly melds sounds that range from hard-edged blues to Lisztian piano driven ballads to New Orleans brass into a result that is truly a blast of new energy into the musical landscape. Dirty Bourbon grabs hold of audiences, fascinated by their eccentricity and dexterity coupled with their ability to harken back to by-gone eras in music. Since forming in early 2009, the Dirty Bourbon River Show has released 10 studio albums and played over 1000 live shows, fast earning them a stellar reputation for their tight, multi-faceted sound and high-energy performances. They can be found bringing their blend of “New Orleans Big Brass Circus Rock” all over the world, performing at festivals and respected venues year-round.

Sunday Sessions With Harp Bazaar

Harp Bazaar was born in the minds of Tara Minton (harp&vocals), Duncan Menzies (fiddle) and Filippo Dall’Asta (guitar) in London in late 2015.  The three musicians met on a session and embarked on a unique musical experiment:  to combine the majestic and delicate sound of the harp with the speed and erratic energy of traditional Gypsy swing.

The band has performed at Le QuecumBar, London’s most famous Gypsy jazz venue, held a year-long residency at North London’s favourite music pub - The Boogaloo, toured Italy twice and and performed at the Royal Albert Hall in April 2017… Welcome to the new world of Harp Bazaar, something you’ve never heard before!

New Orleans Special Hammer and Evans

Leonie Evans was born & raised on the edge of South East London & Kent.

She's a multi instrumentalist, singer songwriter and occasional session vocalist, teacher & event organiser who has been performing since the age of 5 & has never stopped.

Rather than embarking on a conventionally "successful" album/tour/album/tour/... career as someone with such a rare voice, writing talent and stage presence so effortlessly could, Leonie Evans has chosen to do something much more interesting and fun.

Her output to date has included two exquisite albums of dreamy, jazzy, unclassifiable song craft as part of the Bristol-based quartet Rae, plus a handful of small runs of homemade CDs she's sold along the way of her endless, meandering tour of everywhere (in recent years, she's been engaged in something like a micro scale version of Bob Dylan's "Never Ending Tour", living a largely itinerant life from gig to gig, travelling around Britain and Europe with occasional excursions to Japan and the USA).

But what sets her apart from just a discography & list of
tour dates are the countless guest vocals, collaborations, DIY video sessions, stints in the streets and jazz clubs of New Orleans, (spontaneous jams at parties and festivals and, perhaps most precious of all, the sprawling web of connections growing between Leonie and her ever-expanding family of musical sisters and brothers.

She lives for, and is fully immersed in her music, and her inherently cooperative, rather than competitive, spirit means fruitful new connections are continually being made.

Leonie is bringing her friend Dave Hammer from New Orleans for this one!!!

Sunday Sessions With Eltel

We have never seen the like of ELTEL before, in a good way. Funny, freaky, moving and musical with bags of charisma and generosity. Also very, very clever. We love gigging with them. They are ELTEL and they will entertain you. Listen to their great single Flutterby.

An Evening With The Swamp Stomp String Band

the boys are back!!

Twangy Banjos, driving Guitars and a thudding Double Bass sit behind anything from drinking songs that'll have the room stomping their feet and shooting tequila to ballads that'll break even the most toughest folk, to ragtime songs of bar fights and gambling.
