3/09 - Daria Kulesh - Sunday Sessions - 8.30PM Moscow-born Daria Kulesh combines a truly extraordinary voice with strong Russian and Ingush heritage.

Her debut solo album Eternal Child was described as "phenomenal" by FATEA Magazine and named 'Album of the Month' and Runner Up in ‘Best Album of 2015 from a Female Artist’ by FolkWords, among numerous other accolades, awards and nominations.

Her sophomore album Long Lost Home is inspired by Ingushetia (Ghalghai Mokh) – the lost home of Daria's Grandmother Fatima Akhrieva. A mountainous republic in the south of Russia, it’s a land of immense beauty and harrowing tragedy, of fascinating culture and age-old traditions.

Daria's personal link to the stories injects the songs with raw passion and power; the single from the upcoming album, The Moon and the Pilot, has been described by Mike Harding as “one of the most beautiful new songs of the last 10 years”.6/09 - Bedlamb - 8.00PM Seething’s foremost music night, BedLamb, features some of the best musicians locally and from further afield in one of the friendliest, charming most fun-filled boozers around!

Scott & Maria - Acoustic Duo

Scott and Maria are an eclectic acoustic singer songwriter duo. They sing from the heart whatever download the universe or life brings.

The duo create beautiful harmonies and offer music songs which vary in styles.

In their 'Bright Star' album release you'll hear many influences from folk, soul, rock, indie, pop and lots of feel good acoustic melodies.

Scott has celtic roots in Scotland and grew up in the heart of Wessex. Maria also has celtic Irish and Greek roots. The combination of their fiery strong voices and worldly influences has created a unique sound and feel, which is medicine for our times.

Ivor Game

Ivor Game, has been playing his masterful songs for many years, they are rich in melody and lyrics; the personal themes are both original and familiar, a very classy and classic songwriter.

Danny Halpin10/09 - Swamp Stomp String Band - 8.30PM The Swamp Stomp String Band are not your average Americana band. Twangy Banjos, driving Guitars and a thudding Double Bass sit behind anything from drinking songs that'll have the room stomping their feet and shooting tequila to ballads that'll break even the most toughest folk, to ragtime songs of bar fights and gambling. The London based duo can often be found busking by the side of Thames in the day and performing in any haunt from high end cocktails joints to dimly lit dive bars at night.

Taking a mixture of Jazz, Country, Swing, Blues and Ragtime - it is safe to say their music is there to be enjoyed by people young and old, rich or poor, or who just love to stamp their feet and have a ho-down.13/09 - Bluesy Wednesday with Ben Hemming - 8.30PM Ben Hemming was born and raised in the rural midlands were he miss spent his youth hammering away at an old six string guitar and homing the songwriting talent that he has today. In his early twenties he made the big move to london where he has been ever since, in love with the cities diversity as much now as he was then.

“I guess there will always be a part of me that’s left behind in the country, and I still have strong roots in folk music at heart, but london was the place that I really started forging my craft, and made me the musician that I am today.”

Although Ben refuses to be pinned down into to any specific genre there is undoubtedly a strong blues influence to his work and an unexpected literary connection to his songwriting, the beat writers of the early sixties being a major theme in the subject matter of his music.

“I really admire the work of the early blues men of the fifties like BB King and howlin’ Wolf, and my lyrics are defiantly inspired by the work of my favourite authors, Jack Kerouac is a bit of a hero of mine, not just because of his writing but also because of the way he chose to live is life. There’s never a copy of ‘On The Road’ far from reach at my place.’17/09 - Lila J - Sunday Sessions - 8.30PM Lila J Began when Gavin Jones realized he was still in love with the remarkable musician & lyricist, Lisa Jenkinson, turns out she felt the same!
The pair began a journey of discovery and creativity, documented by their first two albums.”Ambulance” 2014 & “Duple” 2015.
Driven by a desire to free themselves from the ‘cover-band scene’ of Gloucester their hometown, they soon augmented the band with the doyen of bass riffs, Keith Phillips and the illustrious Damon T from New York City, on percussion. Now a vibrant, loveable four piece band, they are determined to be defined by their own truths and not that of their peers. Having initially found it difficult to find venues willing to accept their unique sound and optimism, they have steadily gained the love and respect they deserve throughout the south west and the midlands due to their sincere and honest lyrics and their beautiful and challenging tunes. With love as an ever present theme and thoughtful questions delivered in a raw and uncompromising manner, LILA J continue to grow their eclectic troop of followers and fans.
Not content with pre-defined genres, this band have created their own,
“Underground niceness”, bringing together a fusion of influences from Tom Waits to The Velvet Underground, from Dr. Nico to The Pixies and The Sundays.
Individually, they are all talented and creative performers, together they make an epic sound that can hush a busy room and encourage a reluctant toe to tap.
