About us
Situated at the heart of Surbiton, The Lamb is a family-run pub. Liz and Adam took it over nearly a decade ago and it has since become a pillar of the local community.
Over the years many crazy projects were imagined by locals over a pint of real ale at the bar and we are proud to participate and host many community events.
We are involved all year round in events born from the State of Seething, a local group dedicated to bringing people together through creativity. You will often find us running the charity bar or hosting meetings in preparation for Seething events.
What our customers say
"Wonderful family run pub - the sort of real community pub rarely found these days. Warm welcome, great beers, wonderful cheeses and regular (local) guest food pop-ups, year-round family, community and party events."
"A cracking boozer! Quirky, friendly and fun. Come for the beer and stay for the laughs."
"A welcoming, family-run pub: lively and fun, with regular live music and events, a cracking cheeseboard with a wide choice of British cheeses, and of course, pretty much any alcoholic libation you'd care to sup on! Also pop-up food stalls at the weekends!"
"It really is a special place full of fabulous people. My favourite pub, and not just in Surbiton. Do try the cheese board!"
"An absolutely great pub. I consider myself lucky to have this as my 'local'. Brilliant staff, an eclectic collection of locals and regulars, many of whom get involved in creating and running community events. For the ale drinkers, it has great regular beers and ever-changing guest beers, it's won 2 local CAMRA pub of the year awards recently. A good selection of lagers, wines and spirits. And cheese. Lots of cheese. And cheese-related events. Mostly silly, cheese-related events."
"Eccentric, zany, unapologetically fun. Often plays host to an eclectic range of brilliant events (both music-based and otherwise) that never fail to entertain. Easily the most charming little boozer I've ever come across."
Giant games
Over the past few years, with the help of our locals, we have built a giant game and held a giant game day in our garden. As well as being a lot of fun this event allows us to raise money for a local charity.
Over the years we have built Mouse Trap, Hungry Hippos, Buckeroo, Kerplunk and Downfall.
Each summer we take our giant games to festivals. You can find us entertaining the crowds at Secret Garden Party, Green Man, Boomtown, Bestival.
Community Events
Liz has been a founding member of the Surbiton Food Festival since its beginning in 2012. Lots of energy and time has been dedicated to the project to make it bigger and better each year.
Running at the beginning of May each year, the festival is a three-fold celebration of place, produce and people. It is a two week festival with three showcase events; the Seething Sardine Festival, the Surbiton Village Fete, and the Seething Community Sports Day and Picnic.
Entirely self-sufficient the festival is run by local business owners like Liz and Adam and a dedicated group of volunteers.
